Canonicality. This page audits the machine-written companion essay. The essay Signal & Noise stands behind is the author’s Issue 26, Civilization at Machine Speed. The machine landing is v1.1: clean post-audit text. This page publishes the freeze and the redline so those fixes are not presented as original wording.

Attribution. One hundred percent machine-generated except the accepted floor corrections recorded below. Pal, Wang, and Buehler appear on this landing because the author later required that credit on both landings, not because the original machine-audit list named them.

Floor FAIL on item 3 until split. The freeze fused the held-out functional assay with the 98.3% / 59.6% topological knockout, read knockout as live function, and used “caretaker” as a gloss.
