This is built from recovered, redacted source-session messages across three tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, and a Claude CLI critique run), the change-by-change attribution ledger, and saved draft outputs. It is not a raw transcript.

The same multi-day genesis produced two different things. First it produced the hopeful Intuition essay "The Reality Compiler." Then, after an adversarial Critique Cascade fork, it produced this Signal & Noise issue, "Am I Building?" — the constrained, harder-edged version of the same starting impulse. Early sessions therefore belong to the shared lineage, not to Issue 14 specifically; the page says so where it matters.

Author bubbles use the fuller recovered source-session text where it is clearly public-safe; a few are short verbatim lines, the rest are faithful paraphrase. Personal, family, and motivational material is omitted; local paths and private-process markers are redacted. The human is "The author" throughout — a pen name, never a real identity. AI bubbles show saved text outputs surfaced back into the work, or a logged-output summary when no full saved artifact exists.

Early drafts are obsolete development artifacts, not current claims. The record shows process load and the scale of author input — multi-day, multi-tool dialogue and judgment. It does not prove that the published issue is true, safe, or trustworthy.
